Liverpool eager to sign Shaqiri

Liverpool is ready to pay £12 million release clause to sign Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri, Mirror reports.

Shaqiri is available for a cut-price fee due to a break clause in his contract with Stoke following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp is in the market for attacking reinforcements to cover Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino, and Shaqiri represents an option who already boasts Premier League experience.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool has asked about Shaqiri’s situation and the Champions League finalists are ready to meet the winger’s £12m clause.

The 26-year-old is currently with Switzerland’s squad ahead of their World Cup campaign and the midfielder has admitted that he wants to remain in the Premier League once he leaves Stoke.
