FIFA World Cup Russia 2018: A toxic World Cup for Argentina

A ball hasn’t been kicked in the World Cup in Russia and yet the atmosphere in many of the dressing rooms is toxic.

From Argentina to Spain through to France and England, many have been involved in controversial instances in the lead up to the tournament.

The problem is not with the players who will represent Argentina, but with regards to the friendly they will have to play just before the start of the World Cup.

Everything seemed agreed, the Argentines had to play against Israel in Jerusalem, but the players have refused on grounds related to their own safety in a declared high-risk match.

However, the organisation behind the game claims that they have paid two million dollars to AFA and that 45,000 tickets were sold in just two hours.
