Pogba hits back at critics, compares himself to Messi

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has hit back at criticism of his style and application in a recent interview” while also comparing himself to Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

The Frenchman, who has been repeatedly criticised during 2018 for series of issues, is currently with his national team, preparing for this summer’s World Cup in Russia after a disappointing end to the 2017/18 campaign with Manchester United who finished 19 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City and also lost to Chelsea in last month’s FA Cup final.

The former Juventus midfielder who has been criticised for over his style, effort and even his choice of hair colours has finally spoken out, saying: “Nobody can tell me how to play,“I’ve always been like that. When I’ve won, I’ve won being like that. That’s my style of play. You’re not going to criticise a Lionel Messi when he walks on the pitch. He puts three goals in and you will say ‘ah but he is walking on the pitch’ No.

“You cannot tell me how to play. Nobody can tell me how to play. If I’m here today, it’s like I am. Nobody told me how to be. It’s my football, that’s all. Whether people like it or not.
