Gianluigi Buffon has been handed a three-match ban in the Champions League by UEFA for his reaction to the penalty given against Juventus in their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
The Juventus goalkeeper was furious after Michael Oliver awarded a last-gasp penalty in April’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.
He launched into an aggressive and prolonged protest, earning a red card before making further disparaging remarks after the match.
He said the English referee has a trash can in his chest instead of a heart.
And now the Juventus legend will not play three games in the elite competition.
