Human traffickers are wanting to abuse loose Russian visa controls for one month from now’s World Cup to offer Nigerian ladies into sex work, state authorities and abolitionist subjugation activists said.
Authorities in Nigeria said they had insight demonstrating plans were well in progress to activity nearby ladies into Russia for the football competition, misusing a move by Moscow to give observers a chance to enter the nation with only a ticket and a fan pass.
“This is a real present for traffickers,” said Julia Siluyanova of Russian anti-slavery group Alternativa.
“We discovered that about 30 victims (Nigerian women) were brought to the Confederations Cup in Moscow last year. We expect to face the same problem during the World Cup this year,” says Siluyanova
