Swans agree deal for new boss Potter

Graham Potter has an agreement in place with Swansea City to become their new manager, Sky Sports News understands.

It is understood that contract details and legal issues are still to be addressed, but both parties are hopeful that a deal will be signed this week.

The Ostersunds boss has been in talks with the club about replacing Carlos Carvalhal, who left following their relegation from the Premier League.

Speaking about the move last week, Potter said: “I have to talk to them [Swansea] a little more.

“Obviously it’s a big challenge to take the club back to the Premier League and give them an identity, so it’s clear that it’s interesting, but there’s still a long way to go.”

The 42-year-old has been of interest to a number of English clubs due to his success with the Swedish club over the last seven years.

His Ostersunds side won the Swedish Cup last season after successive promotions in 2012 and 2013 put them in the Swedish top flight – Allsvenskan – for the first time in their history.
