Key Serbian defender Matija Nastasic has not been included in coach Mladen Krstajic’s final 23-man squad for the world cup tournament.
The former Manchester City centre-half has been on the sidelines of late due to a knee injury and has not recovered in time to feature at the World Cup.
The Schalke defender played a key role in the Serbia defence during qualifying and as such his omission is a blow for the Group E outfit.
Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic and Lazio youngster Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are the big names in the squad. Crystal Palace and Southampton midfielders Luka Milivojevic and Dusan Tadic also make the squad.
