England and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has defended his new gun tattoo which is on his right foot.
The former Liverpool star says it has a ‘deeper meaning’ regarding his father, who was killed by a gun when he was just two years old.
His new tattoo was seen during the England training and the anti-gun campaigners have criticised it with the Sun newspaper describing it was as ‘sick’
He posted on his instagram:
“When I was two my father died from being gunned down to death. ‘I made a promise to myself I would never touch a gun in my lifetime. I shoot with my right foot so it has a deeper meaning [and it’s] still unfinished.’
