Carvajal will be Playing In 2018 World Cup

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal will not miss the 2018 World Cup with Spain even after picking up a worrying hamstring injury during Saturday’s Champions League Final against Liverpool in Kiev. The Spanish right-back had to leave the game in tears as he thought he would be missing the World Cup. Keep in mind that Carvajal already missed the 2016 UEFA Euro Cup after suffering a hamstring injury with Real Madrid in the Final against Atletico.

“Carvajal had a bad feeling about it but it ended up being much better than expected. The MRI confirmed this and our doctors told us that he will fight to be available for the first game. We will see the progress he makes, his feelings and all but he will be working with the squad during the final week ahead of the World Cup, that’s why we think that waiting for his recovery is well worth it,” said coach Lopetegi.

“It’s a very small injury. Thankfully it’s better than I thought,” said Carvajal when he arrived to Spain’s meeting in Las Rozas.
