Why Harambee Stars boss Migne chose to have reserve players

Harambee Stars head coach Sébastien Migné says he named nine reserve players as a precautionary measure since football is a contact sport.

He explained that 24 players will proceed to the camp at Kenya Monetary studies while the nine reserves will be on stand-by just in case of injuries or other unavoidable circumstances that my force any of the 24 players out of the squad.

“As a precautionary measure and more so because football is a contact sport, we have named an additional nine reserve players who will not report to camp but may be called upon to replace any of the 24 in case of injuries or any other unforeseeable situation,” explained the coach.

The nine reserve players are:

Reserves:Michael Olunga (Girona FC, Spain), Marvin Omondi (AFC Leopards), Patillah Omotto (Kariobangi Sharks), Dennis Sikhayi (AFC Leopards), Johnstone Omurwa (Mathare United), Jafari Owiti (AFC Leopards), Robert Arot (Nakuru All Stars), Geoffrey Shiveka (Kariobangi Sharks), Chrispin Oduor (Mathare United)
