Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari recently tweeted- “I will be travelling to the United Kingdom tomorrow, to see my doctor, at his request”.
The 75-year-old leader was visited London last week after meeting US President Donald Trump in Washington.
“In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the president had a meeting with his doctor,” said his spokesman Garba Shehu.
His government has faced criticism in past for not updating his health condition to the public.
Political leaders of the country have been trying to convince Buhari to step aside so that young candidates get more opportunities.
