Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi has announced two more people have tested positive for Coronavirus.
Among the two, one is a 2-year-old child making the patient the youngest person in the country to be infected with the disease.
The other victim is the 32-year-old person thus bringing the total number in the country to 191.
The latest patients hail from Nairobi and Mombasa.

Mwangangi further noted that they had tested 491 people in the last 24 hours.
She remarked that none of the two people had a travel history.
During the short briefing at Afya House, the CAS mentioned that they had managed to monitor 2,054 contacts.
The soft-spoken leader proclaimed that they had managed to release 1,546 of the contacts as they continued to look for 508 more in the country.
A total of 2,054 contacts have been monitored so far, out of which 1,546 have been discharged. A total of 508 contacts are being followed at the moment.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe’s assistant reassured Kenyans that health workers in the country were giving their best in the fight against the deadly disease.
Mwangangi also stated that different organisations had come on board with the view of providing a better health package for the medics in action.
” Our health care workers remain our top priority and are the heartbeat of us winning against coronavirus. Different organizations are reviewing the package of health care workers to determine its suitability in enabling them fight this battle,” articulated the Health CAS.

In addition, the government official pointed out that the number of isolation beds in the country was on the rise.

She, however, cautioned that the rising number of people with the disease should prove the severity of the pandemic.
“Number. As at this morning, the global coronavirus statistics indicate that the number of those that have succumbed to the disease, is 102,760 people,” remarked Mwangangi.
Health Director-General Patrick Amoth who was part of the daily briefing, highlighted that the new equipment received enabled testing to be done quickly.
“The new equipment allows more testing in a short time; 2000 – 3000 people in an hour. We are working on ensuring we have more testing kits,” remarked the DG.
