Liverpool midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain has praised his Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino after the Brazilian set up three goals in the 4-0 whipping of Southampton on Saturday at Anfield.
The Reds’ number 9 set up three as Liverpool produced a stellar second-half show where they scored four second-half goals against a Southampton side that had caused them problems in the first half at their backyard.
The win ensured that the Reds maintained their near-perfect record this season. Liverpool has only dropped two points all campaign and it came during the 1-1 draw against their arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford last year.
Firmino’s performance against the Saints earned him praise from fans and pundits and Chamberlain, who was a beneficiary of one of the assists from the Brazilian has heaped praise on him saying he is a joy to play with.
“It becomes a little bit normal when you play with that guy. That’s the way he plays and he does those magnificent things all the time. I love him, I absolutely love him. He’s such a joy to play with and to feed off,” he said.
The England international went to praise the forward for being more of a team player and not individualistic.
“He’s always looking for others, he works for the team and his skills speak for themselves. He’s a top man and we all love him,” he added.
