Kisumu County officer under the Environment Department allegedly received the threats following a directive to a hotel owner who is said to be a close ally of the lawmaker representing Market Milimani ward.
Ochieng reportedly called the officer threatening of dire consequences over a directive he deemed detrimental to the hotel business located at Victoria Park in the lakeside city.
The official had written a letter to the hotel owner outlining corrective measures that needed to be undertaken for the hotel to be cleared for business.
Ochieng later assaulted the complainant causing bodily harm.
