Former Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi is set to be appointed as the new Harambee Stars head coach, Opera News has learned. Kimanzi served as Sebastian Migne’s assistant and will be assisted by former Gor Mahia coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno.
Should the appointment go through, it will be Francis Kimanzi’s third stint as Harambee Stars manager. He was first appointed as Harambee Stars manager in 2008 where he led the team to an all-time high 68th position on the FIFA World Rankings.
He was however sacked a year later before being reinstalled in November 2011 but was again sacked 6 months later.

Kimanzi quit his position as the Mathare United head coach barely a month before Sebastian Migne left his position as the Harambee stars coach. He favors a highly attacking game which should be welcomed by many fans after a year of Migne’s defensive approach to matches.
His first assignment with the team is likely to be AFCON 2021 qualifier match against Egypt in Cairo.
