In Kenya, the LGBT community face a lot of social and self-stigma. Once a person comes out to declare they are gay, they stand a risk of rejection by family and friends, violence and insults from outsiders, being thrown out of learning institutions among other consequences.
Voices of the LGBTQ community have been met by great criticism, while efforts to secure their rights seem to have hit a brick wall, especially in Africa. The Kenyan Law has been very instrumental in shaping the stigma surrounding the LGBTQ+ community. One could be put behind bars for 14 years, for having consensual relations with a member of the same sex.
When none has been convicted yet, the law influences tolerability for community members and police to harass and stigmatize these people, therefore, violating their human rights. With more people now identifying as LGBTQ, there is a need to handle this issue with sensitivity and care.
Over the past few days, videos of lesbians having a good time have been making rounds on social media have most people very uncomfortable.

Below were some reactions.
Why is it that only men are complaining about this?? I haven’t heard ladies complaining about gays,” ati kwani we are not enough”? This is bullshit!! If they don’t like men enough to date them or sleep with them that’s their business. In no way does it concern you.

Other facts not withstanding, to each their own. What religion has done to Africa is way worse than who you choose to be your partner.

So do women rely on men for pleasure?
Men really think they’re the shit. They really don’t know that women don’t need them exclusively for pleasure.
They actually think everything is about them.

Do you think people who have fallen in love should romance publicly regardless of whether it is same-sex or heterosexual?
