Kenyans on Monday took to the social media to debate on the fact that the former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was given a blackout during the three memorial services of the Late Joyce Laboso which he attended.
Despite Laboso having clinched the Bomet Gubernatorial seat from Ruto in the last general elections, the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader handed over the instruments of power peacefully and later paid her a visit in the UK where she was undergoing treatment followed by a call of prayer for quick recovery.
“Dr Laboso requires everyone’s support and prayers at this time. We are going to offer much needed moral support. We wish her a quick recovery,β Mr Ruto said.
To many who took to the social media to express their dissatisfaction for failing to grant him an opportunity to speak, deemed the action as unkind and unfair.
Some further cited political to humiliate him and hinder him fro gaining a political mileage from the function.
Here is what they had to say;
It pains alot, that’s a symbol of failed leadership, he deserved a chance just like any other he attended her swearing in & that exemplified unity. Whoever rallied behind that shame on him. Africaππ
The organizers who apparently most them ail outside Bomet county had their own hidden agenda,immediately after 2017 elections Isaac Ruto hold a truce with late governor for smooth development,as a pioneer governor/chair of CoG he could have been allowed to pay a tribute.

It is unfortunate, unless he didn’t want to do so.
*He was the 1st governor of Bomet & chair @KenyaGovernors who fought so hard to protect devolution.
**He will have another good forum, to talk to the people of Bomet & Kenyans. It is just a matter of time Hon @IsaacRutoGov

His presence speaks volume. Am sure if he had skipped the event, many would be reading malice by now.

Contrary to the majority, a section of other Kenyans felt that it was a non-issue.Β See what they had to say;
Does it matter who eulogies who ? A lot of people wanted to but didn’t get the chance leave alone the Isaac ruto

To eulogize, must you speak?? I think attending all the three showed that he totally eulogized Laboso

What impact would have his remarks made unless he is a miracle worker I guess he should have spoken earlier when she was alive
