Showdown Looms as Punguza Mzigo Bill Goes to Counties
So this morning, the Aukot bill is raising temperatures across the counties due to the proposed move to ‘punguza mzigo’ [reduce the load ] on wananchi. This is due for debate in the county assemblies; but will the MCAs vote to send themselves home?
A section of the MCAs have declared support while others have vowed to shoot down the proposals even as they wait for direction from their political parties.
We Do Not Need a Referendum-Ruto
The deputy president DR. William Ruto remains adamant that we do not need a referendum since issues on the table do not need one. Ruto proposes that strengthening the opposition is the solution to get a just and fair society.
Speaking on a local TV show on Sunday night, the DP said that those who were in the opposition are somewhere in between.
Kieleweke Members Distance themselves from Raila
Is the Kieleweke team part of the Raila campaign team as Jubilee SG Raphael Tuju was accused of being a week ago? The team has vehemently denied these accusations terming their move as purely for peaceful purposes.
Led by Nyeri Town legislator Ngunjiri Wambugu, the MPs said their support for the handshake is based on the fact that it was initiated by the President who is the Jubilee party leader.
DP Ruto has promised Kenyans 11 brand new stadia by the end of this year. During their first term in office, the Jubilee Govt promised to build 9 stadia in a bid to improve sporting activities in the country. To date, there’s not even a single stadium constructed.
