Tunisia is in danger of missing out the knockout stages of the African Cup of Nations following a 1-1 draw with Mali. The Eagles of Carthage on now on two points from their first two matches. Tunisia drew with Angola 1-1 in their first match.
After a dull first half, the game came to life in the second half. Mali went ahead on the hour mark after a goalkeeping error from Tunisia’s Mouez Hassen. A harmless corner was swung in by Diadie Samassekou and the goalkeeper made a complete mess of it leading the ball to trickle into the back of the net.

Tunisia was level minutes later through a Wahbi Khazri deflected free kick. The Saint Etienne striker was lucky to see his effort come off Moussa Marega and wrong-footed the Mali goalkeeper for the leveler.

Both teams had chances to win the match in the dying minutes but none could make them count. The result leaves Mali top of the group with 4 points while Tunisia is second with 2 points. Sunday will see Mauritania faceoff with Angola in the other group E match.
