Tottenham were reduced to nine men after Son Heung Min and Juan Froth were sent off in a dramatic match against Bournemouth.
The visitors failed to score but held on but lost it at the last minute ending the game at 1-0 courtesy of Ake, with their hope sealing their top four position dying.
The match had consisted of lots of drama as South Korea international Son reacted angrily after a tussle, first with Ryan Fraser and then Jefferson Lerma.
Lermaโs initial challenge seemed innocuous but Son pushed the Cherries midfielder to the floor and was shown a straight red by referee Craig Pawson.
Spursโ misery was compounded just two minutes into the second half when Juan Foyth became their second player to be shown a straight red after a reckless tackle on Jack Simpson.
Tottenham now have one more match to go but will that help them secure a top four spot?
