The 7ft Cameroonian center supplied 40 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block as Philadelphia resisted a career-best 52-point outburst from Bucks franchise star Giannis Antetokounmpo to hold on for a memorable 130-125 victory.
Turiaf, who won the NBA championship in 2012 as a member of the Miami Heat, believes Embiid’s recent outstanding performances could vault him into the race for the regular season MVP award.

“I think he could be in the MVP discussion if the Sixers can just keep carrying on the way they’ve been playing lately,” Turiaf said.
“He’s definitely in that bracket and the reason why I would say he’s there is because, even before the season he, openly talked about [wanting to win the award] – ‘I want to be in that conversation, I want to be able to lead the team’.
“And when you have a guy that really wants to be able to do it, talks about it and actually backs it up, why not?”
