After being handed a penalty in the second half against Manchester United, Arsenal manager Unai Emery believes that the penalty decision was ‘soft’.
Granit Xhaka opened the scoring for Arsenal as he hit past David de Gea just 12 minutes in, while in the second half Aubameyang was on hand to convert from the spot after Alexandre Lacazette was felled in the area by Fred.
The result means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tasted his first league defeat since taking over from Jose Mourinho back in December.
Speaking after the 2-0 win over Manchester United, Emery termed the penalty as ‘soft’, “Soft, like last week against Tottenham which resulted in a penalty against us.” The same sentiments were echoed by United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, “I don’t think it is, but that’s the decision he made, I don’t think there’s enough contact to merit a pen. It’s not a dive, no, no, no. Fred is apparently very, very strong. The referee will be disappointed when he sees it as I don’t think it is a penalty.”
