Coca Cola boost Kenya open Golf tournament

Coca Cola Company has boosted Kenya Open Golf Tournaments (KOGL) with a 5.6 million sponsorship.

The event slated for 14th-17th march will see coca cola’s water brand Keringet, become the event’s official water hydration provider.

Speaking during the cheque handover, Coca Cola Brand Manager Rodney Nzioka said the deal will boost Kenyan Golf reputation and promote Kenya’s sports tourism sector.

“Following the elevation of Kenya Open to elite European Tour from the challenge tour, the championship has evolved to international recognition. We will continue our partnership with Kenya Open Golf Limited so as to market the country’s ability to host bigger international sports events” said Mr. Nzioka.

KOGL Chairman Peter Konyago said it was such a great honour working with coca cola in Golfing sports.

“Our partnership with Coca Cola has been beneficial ensuring that we host a world class tournament and look forward to a more fruitful engagement as we continue growing the profile of the Kenya Open Golf Championships” stated Mr. Konyago.

The March 2019 Golf tournament will be graced by notable names in Global Golf competitions including, Ryder cup winner Thomas Bjorn.

Kenya will be represented by 6 golfers selected from 2018 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship and 12 professionals some of them picked from the recently concluded inaugural Safari Tour Series.
