Luis Suarez has changed his opinion on the attitude of his teammate Ousmane Dembele, in a positive way. The Uruguayan striker explained why in an interview with RMC Sport 1.
The Uruguayan had on November suggested that team-mate Ousmane Dembele must learn be more serious if he is to become a success at Barcelona.
“But as some of my team-mates have said, and Ousmane knows, football is a privilege for every player, and I think he needs to focus more, and be more serious on some points,” he said at that time.
Suarez wasn’t the only one to give Dembele a nudge at the time. But a change has come about since and he will be one of the protagonists when Barça face Lyon on Tuesday.
“He is young, he knows what it means to be at Barça. Ousmane will learn the role that he has to take on at the club. Things can be misinterpreted. I said that he had to learn. I also learned from older players and the youngsters here (at Barça) do the same.”
In defence of Ousmane, Suarez added: “I think changing club can be tough, in all senses. You’re changing teams, cities, languages… you need time to adapt. But as a teammate and with the group he’s integrated from day one. He understands Spanish. He gets on well with the group.”
