Leaders Mathare United on Thursday had to rely on a late Chrispin Oduor’s late penalty to get a point off a sturdy Sony Sugar side as the two teams drew 1-1 in a SportPesa Premier League match in Awendo.
Tobias Otieno opened the scoring in 64th minute for Sony Sugar after he coolly slotted past Allan Owiny in Mathare United’s goal.
The visitors endless strikes on Sony’s goal mouth was rewarded in 85th minute when Clifford Alwanga was brought down in the box. Oduor converted the penalty to restore parity.
Chrispin Oduor led from the front with an 80th minute penalty to secure a point on the road against Sony Sugar.
Tobias Otieno had given the hosts the lead with a wonderfully struck freekick in the 64th.
