Raila Amolo Odinga is a Kenyan politician who served as Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013, and has served as Leader of the Opposition since 2013. He was Member of Parliament for Langata from 1992 to 2013. ODM party leader Raila Odinga is not serious on his warning to MPs pushing for salary hike, a NASA allied politician has claimed.
ANC party politician Thomas Nyangaresi said the former Prime Minister is only warning MPs for blind Kenyans. “Raila is not serious and Kenyans more especially opposition supporters should ignore him. He is ironically warning MPs against pushing for salary hike,” he said.
According to the politician, Raila went silent when Finance Bill 2018 was passed forcing Kenyans to dig deep into their pockets to buy petroleum products. The former Bomariba ward MCA contestant in Kisii County reiterated that MPs in the 12th Parliament are greedy. “Current MPs have prioritized their interests instead focusing on development. The electorate should be on the watch out to kick out the greedy MPs in 2022,” he noted.
Nyangaresi argued that Raila or President Uhuru Kenyatta will not help in stopping MPs from pushing for salary hike and huge allowances. He maintained that Kenyans made wrong choices during the last year’s polls electing current MPs who have turned to be hyenas going for huge salaries without any tangible development at their respective areas of jurisdiction.
