Several Kenya leaders have today attended the burial of Kalonzo’s father which was held in Kalonzo’s rural home located in Kitui County.
The father to Wiper Party leader and a NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka, Peter Musyoka Mairu died at the age of 94. Mr. Mairu died while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital and leaders have been showing their support through this season of mourning.
Some of the leaders present at the burial are Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Governor Mike Sonko, Wavinya Ndeti and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

The leaders also sent messages of consolation to Kalonzo Musyoka and his family as he was today laid to rest.
Speeches from several leaders made the family share a light moment as it was all sharing of jokes following giving their final respect to a man who was described as..an affable and caring gentleman who supported the needy and contributed to worthy causes in the society.
Kalonzo today described his late father as his friend.. best friend as a matter of fact.
With the overwhelming visits he got after the news broke, Kalonzo said that he was not sure whether he was ready to have the burial last week as he earlier wished.
A reason why they held the burial today. Speaking during the burial, Kalonzo requested President Kenyatta to support him and his family through this difficult time.
