Rapper Nyashinski among the five Kenyan brands awarded the YouTube Silver Play Button Award by Google.
The other brands were KTN News, Njugush, Real House helps of Kawangware, Nyashinski and Africha Movies.

The Silver Play Button Award is given to YouTube content creators who reach or surpass the 100,000 subscriber mark.
Besides from the silver play button, the other awards given include the Gold and Diamond.
Diamond Play Button, which is the highest ranked award, is given to the channels that attain the 10 million subscriber mark while Gold 1 million subscribers.
Njugush who is on a vacation, tweeted his appreciation for the award and thanked his subscribers for the milestone achieved.

The awards seek to celebrate creativity and talent across the continent including those with the most subscribers. It’s in its second year now.
In the last, Churchill’s show was declared Kenya’s top channel and Kangai Mwiti behind the popular Bellesa Africa channel won the makeup/fashion category. Nduruchi scooped non-profit award for his efforts to fight against jiggers.
The content creators for the platform are paid an estimated salary of Ksh 27,000 monthly according to a recruiting site dubbed Glassdoor.
