There was drama on Ntv on Sunday evening when parents to murder suspect Joseph Irungu alias Jowi contradicted each other.
Lead investigative journalist Denis Okari had promised viewers a blockbuster interview with parents of the chief suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani that happened on 20th September.
The interview however didn’t live up to its billing, as Okari decided to hide the identity of the parents. Some people even accused the journalist of bringing impostors to studio.
Dennis Okari desperately looking for some unique content on this Jowie story. Even went ahead and hired an imposter who can’t even show his face as father of Joe Irungu. Your son must be so evil for you to hide your face while fighting for him. Can’t hide fighting for my baby.

Okari also decided to interview the two parents separately, which led to more confusion. The answers the two gave did not relate.
When asked about whether Jowi told them when proposing to his girlfriend Jacque Maribe, the ‘father’ said that he never spoke with his son face to face but spoke to him on the phone.
On the other hand Mum said Jowie actually went home and explained to them as parents and they gave him their blessings.
On the issue of who informed the father about Jowi’s arrest, the senior Irungu said it is his wife who called to inform him of their son’s arrest. The mother on the other hand said that she he feared telling the dad of the arrest because he would faint if she told him.
Most Kenyans read malice in the contradictions and have said that it is either the parents were lying or they know nothing about their sons.
The parents also didn’t know how long Jowi had worked in the middle East as a security expert.
Christians lying on #JowiesParentsonNTV the father says it’s Jowie’s mother who called to inform him of his son’s arrest.Mother says she feared telling the dad of the arrest because he would faint if she told him.

NTV interview with the parents of Joe Irungu Jowie is in bad taste. They should leave the parents of Monica Kimani grieve in peace. #JowiesParentsOnNTV

#JowiesParentsOnNTV There’s so much more to this story than what we are being told. Listening in to Jowie’s Parents breaks my heart but also shows that there’s a distortion of information somewhere. There’s a hanging loose end that needs to be fixed.
