Migori Governor Okoth Obado is admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital after he reportedly fell sick while at the Industrial Area Remand Prison. We are told by medical sources that the governor is responding well to treatment and might be back to his feet soon.
This comes days after the claims that Migori County Governor who is in police custody; in relation to the murder of Sharon Otieno, has been receiving special treatment. Sources had earlier revealed that Obado was given a comfortable bed, mattress; An officer assigned to attend to him and visitors freely allowed to see him; Obado is still in civilian clothes. Police however rubbished these claims saying that he is treated in accordance to the regulations.
Recently, Alego Usonga Member of Parliament received bitter reactions on social media after he demanded a VIP treatment for Migori governor Okoth Obado who was remanded at Industrial area prison. On a live interview on TV , the MP is said to have spoken these words. “Some Police Stations have better facilities than others such as Kileleshwa. I am sure Obado is not having a good time at Industrial Area. “I think VIPs should get better treatment as remandees owing to their status in society,” he said.
Kenyans feel that this narrative of Obado being hospitalized is familiar as the same happened in the NYS 2 Scandal where PS Omollo was reported to have fainted at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison following her admission to the hospital.
