Manchester United boss at war with player

Martin Keown, former Arsenal defender has claimed that Jose Mourinho is at war with his own players.

Manchester United was dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Derby County at Old Trafford after the championship side drew them 2-2 and eventually won 8-7 on shoot-outs. Paul Pogba, who captained United twice in the opening league fixtures, is said to have been informed that he will not wear the armband again by Mourinho.

“Jose seems to be at war with his players and he needs to start seeing the good in what they do. Is he pulling up the handbrake?”

“Everyone in the media is quick to turn this into a massive crisis. Manchester United have had some good away results but suddenly they’re not able to win at home. I don’t enjoy seeing them not being competitive.” the former defender added.

“Mourinho has said the pundits on the sofa have got too much to say. One of them, Frank Lampard, has proved him wrong. It’s a great scalp. This was a really good United team and I can’t think of many bigger shocks in their history. Mourinho tried to go for it and he’ll be hurting in the dressing room.” Keown concluded.

The Derby shock for Mourinho comes hot on the heels of a 1-1 draw against Wolves in the league match at Old Trafford too.
