Confusion as IEBC Reveals Items Stolen Before Elections; Azimio Senator Explains Why Key Allies Are Evading Raila Events & Raila’s New Crisis Ahead of his Mass Protests

Good morning,

Azimio leader Raila Odinga is just a few days away from leading his supporters to a mega demonstration on Monday next week, which he has now unlawfully declared as a public holiday.

However, the former Prime Minister suffered another huge political loss earlier this week after President William Ruto yet again raided his backyard and netted political leaders considered influential in the region, and who were once Raila’s die-hards.

The leaders, who included former governors Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Jack Ranguma (Kisumu) and Okoth Obado (Migori) pledged loyalty to Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party during a meeting at State House with the Head of State who is keen to form a powerful political machine.

They say they are opposed to Raila’s style of ‘endless politics’.

This is a huge blow to the Opposition leader as he strives to fire up his bases in readiness for mass action on March 20 in his bid to protest the high cost of living and a victory he claimed was snatched from him during the August 2022 election.

Do you think these recent and future defections of Raila allies to Ruto’s camp could eventually force the former premier to abandon his calls for mass action?
