Raila’s Lonely Battle to Advance BBI in Uhuru’s Backyard; Moses Kuria Declares 2022 War On 48 MPs Attending Uhuru Sagana Meeting& Murang’a Leaders Form Team to Lobby for BBI

Good morning fellow Kenyans,

On Saturday President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to meet a host of leaders from the Mt Kenya region where they are expected to chart their political future and more so the region’s interests in the BBI.

His meeting will come 48 hours after 41 MPs affiliated to Deputy President William Ruto wrote a letter to him informing him of glaring realities bedevilling his leadership in the country.

Among the issues raised by the leaders is, they will not sell Raila Odinga in Mt Kenya region no matter what.

Reason? Uhuru told them “Raila was Kenya’s foremost problem, and (he) pleaded with us (Mt Kenya leaders) to send him (Raila) home so that the country can move forward”.

The hostile with which the BBI has been treated to boils down to the reality that it is Raila pushing them. In fact, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua told a local TV on Thursday they are opposing the BBI because it is being pushed by Raila.

These emerging facts or rather reports leaves President Uhuru Kenyatta with one major duty on Saturday; he must cleanse Raiala on Saturday if BBI is to go through.

In as much as the President will want to make the leaders appear inconsequential, the Mt Kenya region has not forgotten how he branded Raila as their biggest enemy in 2013 and 2017 polls.

President Uhuru fed their souls with hatred against Raila for nearly a decade and that cannot easily be washed away by the Handshake or maybe BBI.

He needs a tactical approach that will paint his remarks on Raila as mere political rhetoric and not worth being taken seriously until now.

If the BBI has to pass, Uhuru must cleanse Raila at Sagana meeting and if not, the ODM leader must take the back seat in championing the BBI.

That aside, here are our top stories today:
