CJ Maraga Issued With 14-Day Notice to Dissolve Parliament; Uhuru Pressured to Give State of Nation Address & Women Give Ruto, Allies 7 Days to Apologise to Mama Ngina

Good morning,

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s trust in the military has manifested itself once again after he directed Agriculture CS Peter Munya to transfer the Kenya Meat Commission from the Agricultural docket to the Ministry of Defence.

The change effected through an executive order is reportedly meant to breathe new life to the cash-strapped State-owned firm and boost its operation and survival.

This is the latest move by Uhuru to use the military to safeguard his legacy, especially in the fight against corruption and an indication of his trust and hope in the entity in managing some sections of the civil service.

In February this year, he established the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) under General Mohamed Badi and seven other senior military officers to take control of Nairobi County.

The move by the Head of State has been widely criticised by leaders including Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua who warned that the military was slowly running the government while others argued that the country is heading towards a very dangerous situation.

Do you think it is right for the president to depend on the armed forces to safeguard his legacy or is he slowly placing Kenya under military order?
