Hefty Fines for Matatus Unveiled for Not Using Mpesa Payments; Covid-19 is a Hoax Used to Curb Spread of DP’s Influence, Says Sudi & Ruto Allies Say They’ll Not Quit Jubilee as Rift in Ruling Party Widens

Good morning,

Is our COVID 19 curve flattening?

The Ministry of Health in the past week stated that the country has been registering low daily infection numbers because of a drop in the number of samples tested.

However, with all the fraudulence flying around the Mutahi Kagwe led docket, we can’t help but wonder.

They say it takes two to tangle, and that trust is earned and so far, the government has done nothing but push Kenyans into a corner of suspicion, on whether anything it tells us is true.

In as much as the claim that there is a shortage of reagents in the country, hence fewer tested samples, may be true, doubt is bound to arise, given the terrible timing of this phenomena: Right after the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) was exposed for theft and misappropriation of COVID-19 resources.

The question in the minds of the ordinary mwananchi is, were the infection and death numbers deliberately inflated to boost this heist, and are the new encouraging numbers a distraction from the crime at hand?

At this point, only God can answer us, but the fact remains that, inflated numbers or not, the virus does exist, so we need to continue practicing caution.

Meanwhile, here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:

In the guidelines contained under Public Health (Covid-19 Operation of Public Service Vehicles) rules 2020, the matatu owners are liable to a fine of Ksh 20,000 for not using the cashless system.

Oscar Sudi

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi says the Covid-19, which has killed 572 Kenyans and infected at least 33,000, is ‘fake’.

Sudi claimed that the ‘fake’ disease has been politicized to bar supporters of Deputy President William Ruto from congregating and contain his influence.

“I’ve been speaking on so many things, including the fake Covid-19 but soon I will also come out to predict what will happen in the near future,” he said on Saturday at his Eldoret home where he hosted about 100 MCAs from Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Trans Nzoia counties ‘for lunch’.

Ruto Allies Say They’ll Not Quit Jubilee as Rift in Ruling Party Widens

Deputy President William Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto allies have said they are staying put in the Jubilee Party despite calls for them to leave the outfit by a section of President Uhuru Kenyatta allies.

This was after vice-chairman David Murathe asked the Tanga Tanga battalion to exit Jubilee since they had launched their own organization.
