We are halfway through the month of July.
The month has been like a coin, flipping on either side as the days go by.
Unclear of what the rest of the days will be like, we look back at the week that was:
Burale Tests Positive for Coronavirus
Pastor Robert Burale became the talk of the town when he revealed that he had contracted the deadly disease.
Burale went to the extent of sharing a video to assure all doubting Thomas’ that the virus was real.
The video went viral and elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans with a section claiming it was a scam.
The pastor who doubles up as a motivational speaker, however, quashed the allegations when approached about the matter.
The icing on the cake for the Burale story came when Health CS Mutahi Kagwe savagely remarked that he had never heard of the person and, could not comment on the claims.
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho Travels to Dubai
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho made the news for two different reasons.
The first was when Joho posted a photo of him and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed chattering a flight heading to Dubai.
The flashy county boss explained that the two ODM leaders were heading off to see Raila Odinga.
The second was a call by a section of Mombasa MCAs threatening to file for an impeachment motion against the Coast politician.
The group claimed that Joho had neglected them and had not held a meeting with the lot in over a year to discuss issues affecting the residents.
Aoko the Anti-feminist
The Nairobi female writer caused a stir after she went on a roll of bashing Kenyan feminists online.
What began as a good act quickly turned on her, as netizens were fed up with Aoko’s antics and called for her to be returned to Facebook with the hashtag #RudishaAokoFacebook
Aoko had slammed comedian Elsa Majimbo after she stated that her dowry price was not less than Ksh 4 million.
Not stopping at that, the writer went ahead and slammed socialite Bridget Achieng over her escapades.
A group of Kenyans ridiculed her to stop using big English words to boast of her prowess in the language.
Joan Kubai House Tour
The teenager stole the show during the week when she decided to give Kenyans a tour of the parent’s mansion.
Kubai’s innocent virtual tour soon went viral and elicited different reactions from netizens.
As it is the norm of Kenyans, a challenge was created dubbed the #JoanKubaihousechallenge.
Despite the challenge, it was claimed that the 19-year-old unadvised move could land her parents in trouble.
Her Father Peter Macharia is under investigations of ghost projects by his company Benisa Limited in Marsabit and Murang’a.
Realising her mistake, the rich teenager came out to defend herself and condemned Kenyans for invasion of privacy.
Musa Otieno
The Harambee Stars National team legend became a subject of discussion after he tested positive for Covid-19.
The decorated footballer had been admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital with speculations that he had been infected with the virus.
The ex-Stars captain was later discharged from hospital a few days ago and confirmed that he indeed had the disease.
Musa expressed that he would be in isolation after being discharged to facilitate his road to recovery.
Zeddy
The comedienne has been making headlines for the past two weeks following her expose on the dark side Churchill Show.
Zeddy had opened up about how certain comedians fell into depression courtesy of the show’s creative director Victor Ber.
She went a step further and disclosed how the artists were left stranded as they went for the late Ayeiya’s burial.
Speaking on Jalango’s show Bonga na Jalas, she narrated how they were all prepared to travel only to be informed that 12 people were the only ones going to board the vehicle.
Betty and the Handbag
The renowned TV star found herself in the thick of matters after she was claimed to have accompanied Joho and Junet to Dubai.
Kenyans on Twitter were quick to put two and two together after they noticed a handbag in Joho’s photo.
The curious netizens alleged that the handbag belonged to Betty after finding a photo of her with the similar merchandise.
The ex-K24 news anchor was quick to reject the claims and assured her fans that she was in the country and not as speculated.
