Ministry Promises Tough Times as More Cases Reported

Health Cabinet Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi has told Kenyans to brace for tougher times ahead as eight more people tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

With the number of infections in Kenya shooting to 216, the CAS stated that the Ministry would be rolling out a mass testing exercise throughout the republic.

In the first batch, at least 12,000 testing kits will be deployed to Nairobi, Mandera and Siaya counties with an aim to determine the number of infections.

So far, 101 cases have been reported in Nairobi, 34 in Mombasa, 10 in Kilifi 6 in Mandera and 5 in Nakuru. The other counties affected have less than 3 cases each.

The CAS also stated that the country has had a total of 41 recoveries throughout the identified samples.
