King of Bongo Alikiba is counting his loss after two artists in his ‘Kingโs Music Records’ signed out.
Days after setting social media ablaze with his newly released his latest single ‘Dodo’, this is certainly not good publicity for Alikiba.
See, over the years, record labels are increasingly becoming a modest way of chewing a bigger bite into East Africaโs vibrant entertainment industry.
It is no doubt that artists affiliated with these labels often get a better platform and opportunities more hits than their counterparts.
Having a record label to work with has its pros and cons and whenever an artist feels the need to quit, thereย should be room provided for them to act accordingly.
One of the two signees@officialkilly_tz who worked at Kings Music Records shared the news on his Instagram with a caption: “Naitwa Ally killy Omary almaarufu kama killy nikijulikana kama msanii wa @kingsmusicrecords,napenda kuwajulisha fans wangu watu wangu wote waliokuwa wakisupport mziki wangu na wanaoendelea kussuport kazi zangu na hata wasiosupport pia ni kwamba kuanzia leo hii napenda kutamka kuwa mimi sio tena msanii wa @kingsmusicrecords nimeamua hili kwa akili yangu timamu kabisa bila kushawishiwa na mtu wa aina yeyote.”
At the same time, @officialcheedwho was also signed at the label shared his message on the page giving his thanks to those who supported his work and Alikiba for steering him on.
“Napenda kuwajulisha fans wangu watu wangu wote wamba kuanzia leo hii napenda kutamka kuwa mimi sio tena msanii wa @kingsmusicrecords nimeamua hili kwa akili yangu timamu kabisa bila kushawishiwa na mtu wa aina yeyote ile na sijatumia kilevi chochote kile ni maamuzi yangu tu binafsi na ni kwa ajili ya muendelezo wa mziki wangu.” Cheed wrote.
They remained grateful to Ali Kiba for the opportunity he granted to them and for welcoming them to his platform.
As they signed out their message, they requested blessings from Alikiba to see them off in their new journey away from Kings Music Records.
The Kings Music Records came into existence in 2018ย and had signed four artistes; it was launched by Alikiba who was following Diamondโs footsteps.
