Following the sudden death of Gospel singer and former Tusker Project Fame (TPF) contestant Ruth Matete’s husband, Kenyan celebrities have decided to comfort her during this difficult time.

This after Ruth took to her social media account to break the sad news and ask for prayers.

“My Husband BelovedJohn Apewajoye has gone to be with the Lord ..I humbly ask for your prayers during this difficult time,” she wrote.

Cause of death

The singer’s late hubby passed on days after being involved in a gas explosion. He had taken their gas cylinder to the balcony after it failed to light up.

Beloved John Apewajoye then lit a match to see whether he had fixed the problem and was engulfed in flames within seconds.

He ran into the house begging for help and was rushed to hospital by wellwishers. Sadly, after fighting in the ICU and common hospital wards, the pastor lost his life.

Here are some of the comforting messages from Kenyan celebrities.

Kambua and other celebrities could not find the right words to stand with their colleague and tried their best to be kind and fair as they reached out to the mother to be.

“What do you say? No words are enough to comfort you Ruth Matete. May the God of all comfort, in His own infinite power carry you. May He catch and wipe your tears. May He lift your head. And may your beloved Rest in eternal peace,” she wrote.
