Gor Mahia Eyeing AFC Leopards Midfielder

Gor Mahia are reportedly eyeing AFC Leopards midfielder Austin Odhiambo who has been in sensational form for Ingwe this campaign.

The Kenya U20 player has arguably been Leopards’ best player this campaign and has particularly been impressive in the attacking third where he has set up most of Ingwe’s league goals.

The fine form has attracted the interest of several clubs in the league, among them is Gor Mahia who are keen on pricing away the midfielder who came through the club youth system.

The Kenyan Premier League champions have plotted a move for the player once the current season come to a close.

“There’s interest but nothing concrete just yet. Our coach likes him and he has advised the club to bring him on board. We know it will be tough to convince him to ditch Leopards but we will try to anyway,” a source from Gor Mahia camp told Opera News.

A Leopards official has however dismissed the reports saying the player will not leave Leopards for any club as he is currently on a long-term deal.

“Gor Mahia should stop dreaming. Austin is not going anywhere, he has a long-term deal with us and we are not interested in letting him go, he is our player. Gor will have to look elsewhere for a player like him,” the official said.

Another player expected to join the Kenyan giants is Nairobi City Stars right-back Collins Okumu. Western Stima wonderkid, Benson Omalla has also been linked with the Kenyan Premier League giants.
