JUST IN: 6-Year Old Succumbs to Coronavirus

Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi has confirmed the death of a 6-year old child admitted at KNH due to the Coronavirus disease.

The passing on of the boy brings the death tally to four in the last one month.

The child is stated to have been suffering from other ailments which were not mentioned by the government official.

Mwangangi also confirmed 12 new cases of people with Coronavirus.

The new development takes the total tally of those infected with the disease to 122.

The 12 include 11 Kenyans and one Somali citizen.

Based on the distribution of the latest cases, Kiambu, Laikipia and Nyeri had each one person with the disease while Mombasa and Nairobi had two and seven respectively.

She further appealed for the release of oxygen cylinders to the Ministry of Health by individuals hoarding the equipment.

The CAS also reiterated that businesses should desist from using papers and find another alternative for passing information.

“MoH appeals to those hoarding oxygen cylinders to release them; also urges businesses and institutions to minimize the use of hard copies in their transactions and adopt a paperless mode of communication,” remarked Mwangangi.

The development comes after Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced the demise of two other people in the country on Thursday.

The CS went on to confirm that an extra 29 people had tested positive for the disease.
