Chelsea Ahead Of Manchester United in Race To Sign French Striker

English Premier League side Chelsea has surged ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele. Frank Lampard is in the market for a forward to share the workload with English striker Tammy Abraham.

Manchester United is also interested in the forward but reports from the British press point to the Blues being ahead of the Red Devils in the race to sign the striker.

Dembele has sixteen goals and two assists for Lyon this season. A very physical , fast and agile forward, Dembele would fit perfectly in the Premier League with those attributes. His price tag is sixty million pounds but Chelsea are hoping to complete the deal with a lower fee.

Dembele also featured for fellow English side Fulham and Scottish Champions Celtic. The Blues are also in the market for a creative midfielder and it is understood that they have made contact with Barcelona over the sale of Phillipe Coutinho.

The Brazil star is on loan to Bayern Munich after his spell at the Catalan club failed to bear positive fruits. Coutinho would need no introduction to the Premier League having already featured for Liverpool before he went to Spain.

Meanwhile, Willian looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this season. The Winger is in the final year of contract and talks of a new deal have not began with the club.
