Local telco, Safaricom, on Friday issued a notice to its customers, on the unavailability of several of its services on Sunday, due to a planned system maintenance exercise.
According to the notice seen by Opera News, for six hours, customers will not have access to nine popular services on their mobile phones, including the purchase of data bundles.
”We shall be carrying out a planned system maintenance on Sunday, 22 March 2020. Some services some remain unavailable on Sunday from 2 AM to 8 AM,” the firm said.

During this period, the airtime top-up feature will remain offline, including top-up through Mpesa.
Customers will also be unable to access the Bonga points and postpaid services, as well as the purchase of voice, and SMS bundles.
Other features that will be unavailable include balance transfers, airtime, data, and SMS balance inquiries, and, balance transfers.
Safaricom, however, assured its clients that critical services such as calls, SMS, M-Pesa, and internet would go uninterrupted.
