Three more suspected cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in Kenya.
Government Spokesperson Cyrus while giving an update of the COVID-19 situation at a press conference in Teleposta Towers said that the three come into close contact with the country’s first patient (patient 001).
Oguna stated that the three have been taken to the isolation centre at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) awaiting test results.
“As of today, we still have three cases of confirmed coronavirus patients. Those admitted are 20. Out of these, we have the three who are confirmed, the other three are suspected awaiting results and another 14 under quarantine awaiting results.” Oguna said.

The Government spokesperson added that the Ministry of Health is continuing to provide training to health officers at Mbagathi hospital and there are measures in place to ensure the situation does not escalate.
“We have put measures to ensure that the situation does not escalate beyond what it is. We have worked to enhance county capacity with 35 counties confirming they have fully equipped quarantine facilities…”
“We are conducting training of all health care workers in all health care facilities including those in Mbagathi…We have call centers that will provide information in as far as coronavirus is concerned.” Oguna added.
He further asserted that the number of confirmed cases in the country remains at three.
On Sunday President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed two more cases of the deadly coronavirus bringing the number to three in the country.
In his address to the nation at Harambee House, the President said that the confirmations followed tests on 27 people who came into close contact with the country’s first patient.
