The deceased lawyer Hillary Obilo Olunga sustained serious head injuries after carjackers waylaid him in Kakamega before fleeing with his car.

He was rushed to Kakamega Level 5 Hospital where several surgeries were performed to bring him back to life without success.

Friday, March, lawyer Obilo succumbed to his injuries, throwing the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) into deep mourning.

LSK President Nelson Havi revealed to the press that he had made a formal request for the DCI to dispatch a homicide team to investigate the murder and bring the culprits involved to book.

This came after police reports indicated that one of the suspected carjackers had been arrested while attempting to sell the deceased’s car.

Havi assured the legal fraternity he was seeking to bring closure to the fallen lawyer and his family.

Other lawyers who have lost their lives in the line of duty are Willie Kimani, A.N Ngunjiri and Rose Waruinge.
