Victor Wanyama Set To Announce Decision On His Future This Week

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is set to make an announcement on his fuet at English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur later this week.

The midfielder has made just four appearances this season and was exempted from Jose Mourinho’s squad for the Champions League knockout stages. In an interview, Wanyama’s brother Harry revealed that the player’s agent Ivan Modia will reveal where his future lies in the next few days.

‘Victor’s agent Ivan Modia will announce whether he will be leaving Spurs or not and which club. He is set to make the announcement in two or three days,” Harry said.

Wanyama’s contract expires in the summer of 2021 and it had believed that Spurs did all they could in offloading him in January but the player was reluctant to lower his wage £65,000-a-week wage to the clubs that had shown interest in him.

Mourinho excluded the player from his Champions League squad with the Portuguese saying that he had a lot of players in his position.

“Victor is in a position where we have lots of players. Winks, Dier, Skipp and Gedson,” Mourinho said.

Wanyama was close to sealing a move to Belgian side Club Brugge last summer but the deal fell through at the last minute.
