Lawyer Ahmednasir Hits Out at Uhuru Over Hypocrisy

City Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has launched a scathing attack at President Uhuru Kenyatta accusing him of hypocrisy in the fight against corruption.

Taking to his social media accounts to air out his reservations on certain actions taken by the President, the City Lawyer faulted the Head of State  for double standards in the ongoing war against the misuse of public resources.

According to Lawyer Ahmednasir, it was ironical for the President to scold Senators Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Mutula Kilonzo (Makueni) for representing Sonko in court yet he meddled in the affairs of Nairobi County Assembly.

“I have never addressed H.E UHURU through Twitter…obviously out of my respect. Tonight I will…out of duty. When Senators Murkomen and Kalonzo Jr appeared in court for Sonko I called them out. H.E Uhuru you are WRONG to interfere with the constitutional process to impeach Sonko.

“The point I am RESPECTFULLY making to H.E UHURU is that it can’t be CONFLICT of INTEREST when Senators Murkomen and Kalonzo jr appear in court for Sonko..and be in the NATIONAL INTEREST when H.E Uhuru helps out Sonko in the impeachment process,” tweeted the Lawyer.

The remarks by the Lawyer comes barely a week after President Uhuru summoned Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Nairobi County at State House where a plot to impeach Governor Mike Sonko over corruption was shelved.

The impeachment motion was already tabled at the City Assembly and Governor Sonko was required to present his defence team to give answers to numerous accusations.

President Uhuru’s act of summoning the MCAs was seen as a plot to save Sonko from the looming impeachment after the governor had surrendered major functions of his county government to the national Government.

Uhuru had earlier on scolded the senators, who are defenders of devolution, for representing Sonko in a corruption case.
