The Kenya Premier League was in action over the weekend with all teams playing. Below are the main talking points from the action.

Tusker Hopes Of Title Fading Away

After conceding late against Wazito FC a week ago, Tusker FC needed to win in their next fixture to keep alive their hopes of a title challenge this season. However, the Brewers conceded yet another late equalizer to draw 2-2 with relegation candidates Kisumu All-Stars.

The stalemate leaves them nine points behind leaders Gor Mahia and despite a game in hand, Tusker can kiss their hopes of winning the title this season goodbye.

Wazito Revival Continues

Wazito FC whipped Zoo Kericho 4-1 to stretch their unbeaten run in the league to four matches. For a side that had lost seven in a row prior to the current positive run, Wazito has shown great improvements.

The team now looks settled under Stewart Hall and the results are showing on the pitch. The talent in the squad was always there and Hall has found a way to get the best out of the team.

Gor Mahia Match On despite Defensive Lapses

The defending Champions have not kept a clean sheet in four matches. On Saturday, Gor Mahia was again exposed at the back as they beat Western Stima 3-2 to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Though Gor Mahia has enough firepower to bail them out of tight situations, the defense will need to tighten up especially with the Mashemeji derby fast-approaching.

Mathare In Woeful Form

Mathare United has won just one of their last five fixtures. The last result was a 1-1 daw with Posta Rangers an on the balance of play, the Slum Boys did not deserve the point.

Luckily for Salim Alis and his side, three of their next five fixtures are against teams in the bottom half of the table which gives them a chance to register the much-needed win.
