Murathe Makes a Bold DecLaration Over Ruto at Meru BBI

Former Jubilee party vice-chairman David Murathe for the first time attended a BBI rally at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County.

In his address, Murathe tore into Deputy President William Ruto declaring that President Uhuru will not hand over powers to a thief.

Former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe.

” Jubilee Party iko imara….Uhuru aeizi achia mwizi hii kiti. Ama wachie mwizi? hawezi wachia mwizi kiti!” said Murathe.

Loosely translated: “Jubilee Party is very stable… President Uhuru will not leave the seat to a thief. Do you want him to leave the seat to a thief? He will not leave a seat to a thief!”

The utterances were in all appearances directed towards DP Ruto owing to their strained relationship.

Murathe also announced that Jubilee Party Secretary-General will be back to the country on Wednesday this week.

“Our Party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is in London and he will be back on Wednesday next week. Tuju is already well now and is fully recovered from the injuries,” said Murathe.

The remarks by Murathe came as a shocker given that the majority of the speakers centred their speeches along development and the course to unite the country.

Murathe, who is a self-proclaimed confidant of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has on several occasions insisted that DP Ruto will not be the President come 2022.

During his resignation as Jubilee Party Vice-Chair, Murathe cited irreconcilable differences with DP Ruto.

“I now find that it is no longer tenable to stay on as the party vice-chairman, given that I will have to sit in the same National Executive Council with a man I am taking to court to block from running for president,” he told journalists at his Garden Estate home in Nairobi.

Murathe went further and dismissed those saying that there was an MOU between President Uhuru and his Deputy over 2022 succession politics.

“MoUs are public documents, and today I want to dare those that say there exists such a thing between Ruto and the president to produce it,” he said.
