Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Mukomen on Saturday downplayed reports that he prematurely walked out of Meru BBI meeting saying he had some personal commitments to attend to.
Taking to his social media accounts to dismiss the reports, Murkomen said he had some personal commitments and, in all appearances, sarcastically gave an apology.
“It isn’t true that I stormed out of the Kinoru BBI meeting. Moses Kuria who gave me lift was leaving for another engagement. I had no choice but to follow. I also had parental duties in my children’s school. I apologize that wanachi followed us out of the stadium. We intended Not,” tweeted Murkomen.
The message comes minutes after the Meru BBI rally came to an end successfully.
Murkomen and his Tanga Tanga counterpart Moses Kuria walked out of Kinoru Stadium immediately Murkomen had given his speech.

In his address, Mukomen told off the ODM leader accusing him of abusing President Uhuru Kenyatta by calling him a witch and reminding him the moment he referred to Uhuru as ‘Kifaanga cha Kompyuta’.
Murkomen went further and urged the leaders present to concentrate on their manifesto adding that the problems of the common citizens will not be addressed through the BBI.
Besides, Murkomen called on the leaders present to respect the Deputy President William Ruto saying that the two, with Uhuru, were duly supported massively by the people of Mt Kenya region.
The move to walk out of the meeting met criticism from a section Kenyans and leaders who labelled it a show of disrespect.
City lawyer Donald Kipkorir slammed the leaders saying it was too petty to behave in such a manner.
“So, why did they have to go all the way to #BBIInMeru , then throw tantrums & walk away? What a puerile & juvenile act? Why can’t my Senator Kipchumba Murkomen & Moses Kuria organize their own rally? Why do they gatecrash meetings they didn’t organize then abuse others?” posed the lawyer.
However, embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna hailed Murkomen urging him to be brave and oppose the BBI process openly without fear.
“Kipchumba: Be brave and openly oppose the #BBIFraud. Dignity demands that you refuse to subject yourself to degrading treatment at every #BBINonesense rally. Tens of millions of Kenyans have rejected Despot Uhuru Kenyatta’s and Conman @RailaOdinga‘s experiment,” tweeted Miguna.
